Pre-concepts of Spoken English are basically
categorized into four terms:-
VERB
SUBJECT
OBJECT OR COMPLEMENT
H.V (HELPING VERB)
Let’s take an example for precise
understanding of these Pre-concepts of Spoken English.
I am going to school.
Here, “I” refers to
Subject
“Am” mentions to H.V
“Going” denotes to Verb
“To school” indicates to Object
In Hindi, above sentence means मैं विद्यालय जा रहा हूँ (main vidyalaya
ja raha hoon)
Now, understand all the four terms briefly….
Life Cycle of Sentences |
Verb ―
जो काम हो रहा है (jo kaam ho
raha hai)
Meaning – The work
which is happening.
Definition – Although
five (5) forms of verb exist but mainly three verb’s forms are considered and
studied. These three forms of verbs named as 1st, 2nd and
3rd form.
e.g. V1 V2 V3
Come Came Come
Go Went Gone
Eat Ate Eaten
Subject ― जो काम कर रहा है (jo kaam kar raha hai)
Meaning – The work
who is doing.
Definition – There are
8 standard subjects which is divided into two groups named as Singular Subjects
and Plural Subjects.
Singular Subjects – He, She,
It, Any name
Plural Subjects – I, You, We,
They
Remember, “I” doesn’t
belong to particular Plural subject it changes to Singular subject in Past.
Object ― जिस पर काम हो रहा है (jis par kaam ho raha hai)
Meaning – On which
the work is happening.
Definition – Object is
the remaining part of the sentence which tells us about the action. Object can
be anything depends on the sentence. There are also so many sentences which
doesn’t contain object.
e.g. I eat pizza.
He runs on the ground.
Colored parts of sentences are the
object.
H.V (Helping Verb) ― वह चीज जो क्रिया में मदद कर रही है (vah cheej
jo kriya mein madad kar rahee hai)
Meaning – The thing
which is helping to verb in the sentence.
Definition – There are
so many helping verbs for various subjects. Helping verb is decided by subject
and nature of sentence (i.e. using appropriate tense).
